Wilkins Builders demonstrates versatility by working in a variety of environments. We are proud to show off our involvement in local community projects and in the rejuvenation of Calne centre. We have been closely connected with the local town and district councils for many years helping to restore and renovate the local heritage.
Educational Buildings
Hilmarton School and Community Hall
Wilkins Builders turned this much needed facility for Hilmarton School and the community into a reality. The building includes a commercial grade kitchen, main School Hall, separate Community Hall, toilets and store rooms.
Hilmarton School extension
This is a sympathetic extension to this grade II listed school building providing an additional classroom, head teacher’s office and first floor staff room.
Corsham Regis School alterations
Wilkins have completed several projects at this school including a covered play area, redecorations and conversion of a mobile classroom.
Retail Buildings
St Mary’s Courtyard off Church Street, Calne
This project for Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust comprised a three phased rejuvenation of the Church Street area of Calne. A mix of restoration and renovation within the area of Calne’s ancient heart, Wilkins Builders helped breathe commercial and residential life back into this neglected area.
Healthcare Buildings
Mavern House Nursing Home, Melksham
Wilkins Builders enlarged this nursing home with single and two storey extensions and alterations to the existing building. The works have added 32 new ensuite bedrooms, communal rooms and staff accommodation.
St Mary’s Gardens, Devizes
This project consisted of the refurbishment of 12 almshouses including rear single storey extensions, and as seen in the picture, a new communal garden room.
